Research to support the Great South Coast
CeCC and Lateral Plains have been engaged to conduct research for the Great South Coast (GSC) region. Participating local governments include Warrnambool City Council and the Shires of Corangamite, Glenelg, Moyne and Southern Grampians.
The GSC region recognises the benefits of improved productivity and creative innovations that can be achieved through effective use of next generation telecommunications and broadband services.
Research activities will include documenting a number of case studies to illustrate how local organisations will ‘champion’ next generation broadband capabilities to generate benefits in areas such as agribusiness, education, the dairy industry, government services, health, manufacturing, tourism and home based businesses.
The Great South Coast Regional Communications Strategy will provide the vision for the region to move forward and be a leader in the ‘digital innovation community’, and assist in enhancing readiness for an early roll-out of the National Broadband Network (NBN). It will include an action plan to engage the GSC community and businesses in the acceptance of and maximisation of the benefits derived from NBN connectivity.
