BBBOnline launched
The Centre for Electronic Commerce and Communication has developed online and CDROM infrastructure to support the delivery of the bbbonline pilot program. We congratulate project participants on the launch of the project and look forward to our ongoing involvement in this exciting project.
Small business operators in the Goldfields region are set to boost their entrepreneurial know-how following the launch of an online training program.
The pilot project, entitled Building a Better Business, was launched at Sovereign Hill recently.
Developed by the University of Ballarat, the pilot will provide online training for about 540 small tourism based operators across the region.
The project - BBBOnline - was made possible by a $145,000 grant from the Federal Government's Small Business Enterprise Culture Program.
Senator for Victoria Judity Troeth launched the pilot, saying small business operators in regional and remote areas often found it hard to source information.
"It aims to build a regional learning network where small businesses can access industry-tailored data and exchange knowledge to achieve best practice" Senator Troeth said.
Project Mangers Dr Patrice Braun and Mary Hollick said the project would help encourage the uptake of voluntary industry accreditation.
Building a Better Business Online was developed by the Centre for Regional Innovation and Competitiveness at the University of Ballarat in conjunction with the Better Business Tourism Accreditation Program.
