UB's ADIEH research theme website launched
The ADIEH website was launched on 29 July 2010 by Professor Lawrie Angus, Head, School of Education, University of Ballarat.
The Addressing Disadvantage and Inequality in Education and Health (ADIEH) Research Theme is one of four designated Research Themes of the University of Ballarat. The research brings together groups and teams of researchers from multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary backgrounds in three focused areas:
- education and community engagement
- physical activity and wellbeing
- healthy communities, productive ageing and supportive care
The Theme seeks to better understand the issues around education and health in communities that have been put at a disadvantage. A study of a sizeable and diverse community with a long history of various forms of disadvantage and exclusion is a primary focus. This community, known as the South, is on the southern side of a major regional city.
To support the research team in effectively profiling its activities and communicating the result of its work with communities, industry partners, government and other researchers within Australia and internationally, CeCC was invited to assist the research team in setting up a website and community profile, and establish a knowledge management system for the theme.
