actKM Knowledge Management Award
Each year the actKM Knowledge Management Forum awards organisations or individuals that have made significant achievements in organisational capability, performance or sustainability through the application of knowledge-based projects or activities.
At the 2010 awards ceremony in Canberra, CeCC was the recipient of the Silver Knowledge Award for 'the effective design and implementation of a knowledge management system that significantly improved the capability of the organisation to capture, enhance and leverage its organisational capital'.
CeCC's Award submission was based around its work in designing and implementing the University of Ballarat's online policy administration management system. The introduction of PAMS (see www.ballarat.edu.au/policy) resulted in the establishment of a sophisticated web-based workflow system to support management, development, review, access and reporting for all organisational policies and procedures. The conversion from the previous manual system has increased organisational capacity, led to more effective use of resources, improved workflows, increased reliability and consistency of documents and resulted in more effective access to policy information and associated documents.
